Started out on friday evening, jenny was on call so I stayed up late and got another coat of mud on almost all the walls. Saturday morning taylor woke me up early so I got back to mudding. Put a second coat on all the corners of the room. I still have to get the seams on the ceiling and all the corners on the ceiling. It will probably take at least one more coat in a few spots. Getting closer though. Starting to look much better. What have I learned from this small room? I am glad I do not do this for a living. I will be hiring out the main room and other areas I think. Will get done much faster and probably look much better also. MIght try to find someone that will do part of it for me. Say I put the tape and corners on and someone else comes in and finished everything for me. Hope I can get all the rest of the rooms done down stairs and finish the garage so I can paint the garage also. Hope to keep it below a grand if possible. Will have to start looking around.

I also worked on the yard again on sunday. Put some mulch down around the mailbox and put in four day lilies to dress it up a bit. I have a little bit more room there so I might put something else down also. I pulled all the bricks up around the three trees I have in the front yard. Yes I know I just put those in last year. It was not working out as good as I had hoped. Just edged around the trees and put some more mulch down. I went out and got some more fertilizer spikes for the trees. Hope to get that down this week. I have two trees in the backyard I want to take the bricks up on also. Would like to get all the trees fertilized this week some time. Have just enough to put 3 spikes on each tree in the yard and 2 spikes on each pine tree in the backyard. That should be good for the year on the tress then. I think I will spray all the trees also then to try to keep the bugs off them.

Mowed yesterday also. The lawn is coming in very nicely. I am happy for the most part in how the lawn has come in. Been alot of work but it is worth it now. Backyard still needs abit of work but don’t want to do to much until taylor stops digging and trying to each some of the stuff back there. I think I am going to edge and go ahead and just mulch the area next the the deck this year. Just clean that up a bit. Don’t put any plants in it yet just much to clean it up and then maybe plant some stuff there next year. I may much under neath the pine trees also, just to clean that up also. I hate mowing under them and the grass gets a bit long sometimes. Mulching under them will fix that problem.

Just re-doing the website ports and layout of the structure. Nothing to do with website itself as far as content and look, just the links.

Started out great on saturday accomplishing alot in the morning. Sunday I knew I would not get to much done. We headed home early afternoon and went to lunch and then headed down to southbend for a wedding. Didn’t get home until late. Monday I had a really bad headache all day. Finally went away late last night. Hopefully today it will not come back.

Well ran the maxtor powermax utility and it told me the drive was bad. Luckily the drive is still under warranty. Filled out the form for an advance rma replacement and got the rma number and shipping info. I will wait for the drive to get here and will then ship the bad one back to them. This might be another item that was hit by that electrical storm.

Well after I moved all the files where they needed to be and backed them up again and then defraged. The server seems to be doing ok. Havn’t seen any errors as of yet. I will look that maxtor up and see what is wrong and then at that point I can get a new drive or send this one in to get fixed. Hopefully the drive is not going bad though. Hopefully just the partition had problems and I can reformat and all will be fine again.

Well last night I brought all my computer stuff back up from downstairs. Started working on the file server. Could not get anything off the bad drive. I took it out and put in my old 120 gig drive I used to use. It still had a lot of the old data on it. Started copying some of the files that I had backed up on my firewall. Website is backup now. Got dvarchive back up also. Almost have everything back to normal and am coping the files as I write this. I will keep two copies of my data drive from now on. Don’t’ think I lost much of anything but can’t be sure of that. I now have to figure out if the partition went bad on that 160 gig maxtor or if the drive is going bad. If the drive is going bad I will need to look up when I bought it and see if I can get it replace under warranty. I have another 200 gig maxtor I just bought that I can move to if I need to. The 120 gig seems to be doing ok right now though. I think I will have to really start looking for the new stuff I wanted to get to piece a new server together. That or just rebuild my other box and get that back in as my main server. It might be time to get that external usb case I have been wanting to get. That would be good to have around. Just put my 200 gig into that and then I can put it on any case I want to put it on.

Well my webserver/fileserver at home is having some problems. It is down today. My data drive seems to have stated getting errors and as of right now the whole system is turned off. I hope to take it apart tonight and see if the drive is bad. If it is I think I have a backup copy and will put another drive in. Hope I can have it back up and working tonight.
