Well, if time permits tonight I think I am going to finally start to run the video cable and the phone and network cable. I might even start to run the speaker cables. I will hold off on the projector cabling just to save me time in the future of redoing that stuff. Now that the two rows of cans are up I can pull all the old wireing out and hook the 8 cans to the existing light switch, then when I finally get the double door for the room I can finish the hallway wall and wire the two rows of cans into their final switches on the big rooms wall. After I have finshed that stuff I believe I will be ready to finish up on the insullation and then start drywalling. I can’t wait to get the drywall up and take a look at the room. Should come together nicely.
Going under the knife
Well Taylor was suppose to get spay tomorrow, there has been a family emergency at the vet so it has been pushed back till next thursday. Hope everything goes smoothly next thursday.

Lights are up
Well I have 9 of the 12 can lights up and working. They are hooked up temporarily for the time being. I will hook them up to their real switches as soon as I find out what size door I am going to put into the room and then frame the wall up. Just need to run 2 wires and then hook the two sets of four up. Then there is a can at the bottom of the stairs and then 3 in the computer room. Lighting should be all set then. I still am looking to put a fan in the computer room. Bought the fixture tonight and will put that up and wire it in this week probably. Now to move on to the video, phones and network cables. Oh and the speaker cables. Going to use the standard electric wire in the walls and ordering come nice wall jacks to hook them to. Then I can use short speaker cables from the wall to the speakers. I have to figure out what projector I want and figure out where to put it so I can run cables for that also.

Basement catch up
Well this weekend I have made some advancments on the basement. finished up on the bathroom lighting, put in two switches for the computer room and have one light hooked up. Planning on a ceiling fan in the center of the computer room and then can lights around the outside of the room. I moved the main electrical run for the lights in the main room. I have to get the double door ordered and then I can frame the rest of that wall in to the dimentions of the door, then I can finish up the switched of the main room and hook them to the can lights I just bought last night. Bought 12 can lights and 3 bulbs and only 4 covers for the lights. Wanted to make sure I liked these lights and covers. I think they will work great. Hooked up two of the three heater vents in the basement. I now know why they want so much for installation on that system. The local heating company wanted about 1grand to do the job and I have done it for just under 300. But I have one slight cut on my thumb and a pretty bad cut on my finger that might need to be looked at by a doctor. Good thing I am married to one. Will probably go and get a tetnis(sp?) shot tomorrow though. But both are done and the last one should not be to bad. going to use an existing run and just hook it into the run that goes to the upstairs closet. Have that vent closed anyways. Then just have to put a return vent. But not worried about that right now.

Other projector I think might work
Well now I have found a 2nd projector I think might be pretty darn good. Cheap to. Found for 1470.00 with 100 rebate and when you register you get a 5 year warrenty. It is an Infocus X1. Only 800×600 dlp, but is amazing from all of the reviews. It will do hdtv, but not as good as some of the other projectors. But for the price every review I have seen says it is a great picture for the price. Of course there are better but for a much bigger price.

Update on basement
Well last night I setup some wireing for the computer room and hooked up the vent/light to the tube that will eventually go outside. Have everything in place to vent outside. Just do not want to be cutting the wall right now. Will wait to do the rest until it gets a bit warmer outside. Need to run a few more outlets in the bathroom and hook up the wireing for the computer room to live wire. Move the overhead light to the wall where the sink will be in the bathroom and then I think I will be ready to insulate the rest of the walls. I do need to run the coduit but that should be easy to add after insullation is in. I am ready for the can lights and rest of wall insulation now. Might get both of those this week or weekend.

Vent for downstairs bathroom
Well, finally got the vent/light for the basement bathroom wired and put into place. Didn’t take long but had been waiting on getting the tubing I wanted to use to put the exhaust air outside. Finally found tubing long enough to get it to the outside wall. It is going to be about 15 feet or so I think. Ended up getting a third flexible ventilation tube that was 4 inches instead of the 6 inches I have been getting for the furnace vents. The 4 inch tube fit great on the exhaust fan for the bathroom. Just have to hook the tube up now and cut a whole in the siding. Will probably wait till it is a bit warmer out to do that. Wired up 3 switches for the bathroom. One for the light over the sink and mirror (that we do not yet) and one for fan and one for light in the fan box. Should be plenty of light for the bathroom. Want to put in at least 2 outlets for that bathroom and then place the light over the sink area also. Next I will wire up the 2 light switches for the computer room. THinking about putting a fan in there also. So maybe even three light switches. Probably just two though. One for fan/light and one for the can lights over the desk area. Still trying to figure out what I want to do for that room. Bought the conduit for the basement also. Bought about 70 feet of the stuff. Should be plenty to run the wires I need. Got 2 1/2 inch electrical conduit. Have a whole cutter that cuts a whole just big enough to put the conduit though. Will wait a bit to put that up. Need to figure out where the projector is going to go and the stereo stuff also.

Think I found the projector I want
Of all things it is a dell. Actually not made by dell, go figure :). It is a dell 3200 MP.
This DLP has the latest chip that texas instruments puts out. Plenty of connections on it also and I guess the thing is small. Compared to a pocketpc by a few reviews. Hard to believe that.

Conduit for cables
Planning on picking up some electrical conduit this weekend to start running the video, audio, data, etc for the electronics. Hope I can fit 2 inch conduit in the ceiling with out a problem. I am pretty much decided to put a soffit around the whole basement main room so that will help me run conduit to the computer room also. Probably will need about 60 feet of conduit and a few corner sections by the time I finish up the runs, need one going from computer room to stereo location in main room, one from stereo location in main room to projector location, one from stereo location to the utility room and one from utility room to computer room. Might put one from projector to utility room also. The rest of the cables I think I will just run in the ceiling no conduit.
