Have a few speakers mounted in the basement

Last night after setting up the projector on a table and playing with it for a bit and then mounting it to the ceiling and running it off the cables that go through the ceiling, I decided I needed sound.  I started on the rear speakers.  I then mounted the side speakers.  I do not like how the side speakers turned out.  I will probably remount those this evening.  I will also bring the rest of the stereo equipment down and start getting that all finalized.  Everything is ready for front left and right speakers and the 2 subs.  I still have to figure out how I want to place the center channel.  I hope to have all the audio hooked up and running tonight.  I also want to have a new cable box with HD hooked up also.  I will probably move the tv down there later this week or early next week.  I still have to decide on placement of the tv.  I am very happy with the projector so far.  I just have to tweak placement of the speakers and I will be ready to watch a move down there. Here are updated pictures taken of the basement.

The bathroom is finished

Last night I mounted the toilet paper holder and finished up on the mirror.  I believe the bathroom is now finished.

Projector was behind a chair on my portch when I got home

As soon as I got home I unboxed the projector and let it start warming up.  After a quick meal I checked to make sure the projector was warming up and started to get the dvd player hooked to it via component and hdmi cables.  Powered up the projector and that is when I started to worry.  Everything was just light nothing was dispaying.  I turned it off and it got loud(the fan kicked in to cool the light down.  I powered it back up and noticed moisture on the inside of the inner most lense.  It was almost gone at this point.  Must be from it being so cold and then warming up.  After about 5 minutes all moisture looked to be gone and the screen was clean.  I focused and popped shrek2 in.  Man what a nice picture.  I have a few shots of the screen here.  I will setup my tripod and my camera later this week to get some clear shots.  The sony is fuzzy due to dark room and movement by me.  One or two are almost focused though.

Projector is on the truck

Tracked the projector this morning and it was on the truck out for delivery. I may have to head home for a late lunch. See if I can be there when it is delievered. I just got the speaker mounts I had won on ebay. I did not get around to getting that all set last night. I will have to work on everything for the projector tonight. I will start with playing around with the projector on a table. Then mount the speakers for the rears and sides. Then I will bring down all of the audio equipment from up stairs. I can then hook everything up to make sure that works and then I can start mounting the projector on the ceiling.

Finished a few things in the bathroom last night

I was able to finish up everything with the new toilet. It is fully operational now. It uses very little water. I think it uses something like 1.4 gallons of water for every flush. Amazing. I put up the towel holders and worked on putting the mirror up. Found out the mirror we purchased had a bad spot in it so we took it back and had to go to menards to pick up a replacement. The new mirror is made by the same company but it is just a little taller than the other. I will have to move the top mounts up a bit before I can get that finished. After that I believe the bathroom will be finished.

UPS says the projector is still on-time to be delievered the 21st

Just tracked the projector and it finally has hit the groud in MAUMEE,  OH.  Hopefully it will be getting on a truck soon and heading to the local ups facility.  Can’t wait for it to be delievered tomorrow.

Toilet is almost ready for use

Tonight I spent about and hour on the toilet installation in the basement bathroom. Got the toilet flange installed and screwed down. I then was able to put the wax ring on and place the toilet base. I hooked everything I could up. I have to get a new hack saw blade bacause I broke my current blade cutting the bolt on one side. Just one more bolt and I can put the second cover on. The toilet seat is installed. The tank is ready to go. The water line I got is just not working. I will take the current one I have and get one that is flexible and about the same size. Once I get that part I will be able to hook the water up and we can use the bathroom. After I get that finished up tomorrow I will work on getting the mirror installed and the rest of the towel holders and what not.

Things are coming together

The projector mount was at the door step when I got home this evening.  The thing is very small.  I plan to get it ready so I can mount the projector as soon as I get home tuesday.

Finished a few things last night

Well I finally was able to make some headway on the cables for the projector. I ended up trying to pull just the vga and hdmi cable. I was able to get both pulled at the sametime without to much resistance. Next I fed the fishtape back through and pulled the component. That came through without to much of an issue. Last cable was the svideo with two rca connections also. I tried to pull it and it was very tight and kept getting hung up. I ended up thinking, this cable only cost me like six bucks. I pulled out the wire cutter and snipped the end off. Hooked the cable to the fishtape and started to pull the cable. Not a problem, I was able to pull it all the way and have all of the cables up there hanging. I will have to solder the svideo cable back together and shrink wrap it. Should be as good as new. Projector is on time and should be here tuesday from tracking info. The projector mount is on truck and ready to be delievered today. I just got the bannana plug ends that I won on ebay. I was able to hook all of my cables up with those ends last night. I won 40 ends alltogether. That gave me enough to make 10 cables in all. That is enought to deck out the reciever side of things. I will probably just use the same cable but just screw down the wire for all of the speaker side of the connections. I hope to get all of that setup and working early next week.

I started on the toilet in the basement bathroom.  Set everything up and took some measurements and tried placing the toilet over the flange.  Everything lined up and looked good.  I then started drilling holes in the cement floor so I can ancor the flange into the cement.  I have 2 holes ready for the cement screws and 2 more about half way finished.  I went through two batteries getting that far.  I decided to give the drill a break and will get back on it tonight.  Hopefully I can finish up on the holes and place the flange in it’s final place.  Then test fit the base of the toilet one more time and then bolt it in and start getting the tank hooked up and working.
