I will have a 4 day weekened this coming weekend and hope to get a few more things checked off the list.  I was not able to finish everything I wanted to last week.  At the end of the week I got side tracked on a problem and a few other things.

At about 10pm on the 22nd I noticed that there was a little water and salt buildup around the water softner salt container.  Well after digging into it, I found it had a crack/leak in it.  I ended up emptying about 200 pounds of salt and water out of the container that night and going to sleep around midnight.  The next morning I called the company that installed it and they could make it out the wed after newyears if I wanted them to.  I asked if I could just pick the part up and install myself and that was fine.

83 bucks later the problem was solved and all is well.

I plan to go to Home depot one night this week to pick up the window and door trim.  I hope to get going on that over this coming weekend.

I still need to touch up some paint in the main room of the basement.  After that the only touch up painting I want to do is the ceiling in our bedroom.  I have primed the two spots I want to touch up and now I will roll some flat ceiling paint over the primer and i think that will be fixed also.

After the basement windows are all finished and doors are all hung and trimmed out, primed and painted.  I will move on to the baseboard molding.  I will need to pick that up and paint it before installing.  I hope to go pick up a few carpet samples monday or tuesday of next week.  I hope to get carpet on order and installed by the end of feburary if all works out.

This week I will make the final decision on if I get the projector now or later.  I want to see what the prices seem to do this week and try to figure out what they will do after the new year.

Well I have finished a few projects I wanted to do this week. I still have a few more.

I want to touch up a few spots in the basement and trim out the windows.

I want to touch up some paint after touching up the basement and also fix a few spots in the rest of the house also. I figure it will take me the better part of a morning to get all of the touch up stuff done with the paint. Probably another few house to touch up some spots with mud also.

I want to take jenny’s car up to get washed at talk to the dealer

I want to sweep out the garage and mop it up also. Try to get it clean again.

I will add to the list as I remember a few more items I was planning on working on.

UPDATE: Garage floor has been cleaned. It is drying right now. I have worked on a bit of the touch up work and ahve some more to work on. I believe the upstairs is ready to have touch up paint. I plan to work on the down stairs mud tonight so I can do all of the paint touch up at the same time.

I took my car to the car was to get it washed. I will probably take jenny’s car tomorrow.

The last couple of days I have been making food that we can freeze and then cook later. I made home made mac and cheese over the weeekend. I finished up the 3 day process of beef brisket. That sucks to make. It smells so good. A full day of that smell is so hard to deal with. Tomorrow I plan to help finish up chicken enchiladas. I think we will have used most of our containers to cook stuff in. I ended up going out and getting two more containers at wal-mart so I could finish up the brisket.

Yesterday afternoon I finished tweaking the screen and put it up near the location I will me mounting it to the wall. It is currently on two tv tables against the wall. I will take some pictures and post. It turned out very good. I am currently debating on getting the projector now or waiting. I will make my decision tomorrow probably. The place I was going to get it from does not have any left in stock. I have to purchase before dec 31st in order to get the 200 dollar rebate. Decisions, decisions.

Last night I worked on the screen again. I was able to get the black out cloth all stapled on and looking great. I then moved on to getting the pieces around the screen cut and covered with black velvet. I now need to put the metal hardware on the black velvet pieces so I can get them mounted to the screen. Then I will work on mounting the screen to the wall. Probably another 2 hours or so and then thing will be mounted on the wall and ready for the projector. I will work on getting speakers mounted and in place next. Hopefully I can get everything in place so when I hook up the projector I will be able to watch a movie as soon as I calibrate the projector. Hopefully later today and early tomorrow I will get a few more quotes on the projector and then I can make my decision tomorrow and order it. Wonder if I will get it by the end of this week or not. It would be nice to be here to receive. Not sure if that will happen or not.

Friday night after dinner jen and I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and I picked up 3 yards of blackout material and 3 yards of black velvet. The blackout material will be streched across a wood frame I will be building and that will be the screen. The black velvet will be put on a second frame I will be building and that will be the black frame to the screen. All of this will be mounted on the wall in the basement for projecting a picture from a new projector I hope to be ordering next week. The frame will be started tonight or tomorrow. I picked up 4 1x4x8 and 7 1 x4x6 peices of pine at homedepot today. The screen size will be 92×52. It will be a 106 inch screen. I may at some time make it a bit smaller. I want to have as large of a screen as I can put in the that area but do not want to have the screen to large. Hopefully this size will be fine and where I want to put the projector will be a good location and give the projector enough distance to project a large enough picture to fill the screen. This will be a fun project and so far I have only put 90 bucks into it. I hope i have not over looked anything so far.

UPDATE: Well that went a little bit faster and easier than I thought it would. I went down to start on the project this evening frame is almost finished. I just have to mount the last two braces. I think I will just brad nail them into place. I plan on putting the Blackout material on the frame tomorrow. After the screen is made and I am happy with it I wil start on the black frame. That will be a bit more work becuase I will need to make every peice by itself and make sure it fits perfectly. I will probably need to get a few more parts before finishing that also. The screen may be finished and mounted by monday or tuesday. I hope to order the projector tuesday or wedenesday. Doubt it will be here by friday but we shall see.

I have been looking around on ebay every so often trying to find a new battery for my dewalt tools. Today I got lucky once again and found an aution ending soon that had one battery going for 31 bucks. I ended up getting it for 33 bucks and 12 bucks shipping. Kind of expensive shipping but still half the price I would have to pay at homedepot to get the same battery.
