Projector Mount is on it’s way

Better than on it’s way.  After I called to check on the status.  They just had not updated the website.  After they updated I got an email with tracking info.  Mount was shipped yesterday and is scheduled to be delievered to our house tomorrow.  I better get on pulling the cables becuase come tuesday next week I will be ready to see how the projector works.  That means I have to get cables pulled and all the other equipment setup and working in the basement.  I also need to get someting built to block the light from the one window next to the screen.  We want to put normal curtains there and that will not block 100% of the light.  Jen said to build something so I can stick it in the window when I do not want light to come in.  I am thinking about just putting foam there to see how it works and then maybe build a drywall insert out of drywall and a wood frame that I can stick in there and put a small handle on it to pull it out.  Maybe to much work.  Still have to think about what I want.  Just  a simple cloth hung in the window area would do enough.  Maybe a frame with blackout material would be a nice look also.

Not much to update on the basement

Last night I spent about 2 hours trying to get a bunch of cables pulled through the conduit up to the projector.  Did not get any pulled.  Keeps getting stuck.  May have to many cables right now.  I will try again tonight and space them out a bit more.

Good news though.  My costco order was updated to shipped status.  The projector shipped from California.  Should be here on the 21st.  I have to get things inplace fast.  Now to see what is holding up the projector mount.  No tracking info on that as of yet.  I will find out what is going on with that later today and cancel if they are not going to ship it today.

Basement is filling up very quickly

Last night I was busy cleaning up the futons and end tables and workout equipment. The rooms are filling up quickly. I have a path in the utility room finally. Tonight I hope to be able to clear out some more room in the utility room. This weekend I plan on getting rid of a chair and automan, along with an old tv. Little by little I will get that utility room cleared out. By spring pickup I hope to have everything out of that utility room. I will have a bit of stuff to put out when it comes time for spring pickup.

I may have messed up on a few small things with the screeen layout. Everything is fixable, just simple things like where to put the tv so it is not in the way of the screen. I think we are going to end up getting a few new items for the basement. Some office furniture and a sectional I would think are the first two things we will get.

I have not heard anything on the projector mount or the projector as of yet. Still have a few days before I get worried.

Projector is going to be ordered later today

I just applied/bought a membership to costco. Later today I plan to purchase the panasonic 900u. I hope it comes next week sometime. It has been a long wait but I am sure it will be totally worth it. I am going to end up paying just a little bit more for the projector but I like the idea that anytime for any reason I can return this projector to costco and get a replacement if I want or just get my money back.

Update: Just found the RPA-225(ceiling mount for the panasonic 900) for 149.00 shipped. Placed an order a little bit ago. Will see how fast they ship. I will call later today to make sure the have in stock and I will get it next week sometime.

Update:  Projector has been ordered.  Now I have to wait to see when the projector will ship and also when the mount will ship.  I hope we get it sometime next week.  Doubt they will be here yet this week.

The basement is so close to being done

Over the weekend I cleaned up the main room, office and hallway.  Finished up a few small things and moved everything out of the areas mentioned above.  Last night I pulled up the carpet on one step just to make sure everything was just stapled down and not glued and then filled in a small area on the bottom step since I was not going to put the post and railing back up.  This morning I got up the normal time and got taylor up.  I then went on to pull all of the carpet and pad on the stairs up and then pull every staple out of the stairs that was left over.  Finished up about 8:00 and cleaned up a bit.  The carpet installers showed up at about 9am and went to it.  Pad and nailing strips were down in now time.  Carpet showed up and they went to town.  They had everything seemed and finished by 12:30pm.  Paid him and then jen and I spent the next hour or so vacuming.  That carpet looks great.  We went out this afternoon and threw the old carpet and pad away at pro-source.  Went to homedepot and picked up the mirror for the bathroom and a toilet.  I am working on installing the toilet tonight.  Hopefully I will be able to finish up the toilet tomorrow and also get the other fixtures finished in the bathroom.  I can then start to bring the futons and other furniture into the finished rooms.  I can’t wait to get everything out into the finished room and then I can get that utility room cleaned up and organized again.  I plan to get updated pictures up on the website tomorrow.

I have not posted anything on the basement for awhile

Well after a few messages and a change on the delivery date on the carpet. Everything is back on schedule. Carpet will be installed this coming monday. I have almost everything out of the main room. Office is totally clear and ready for carpet. I need to move the stereo and speakers out of the main room. I only have one thing left after that. The chair. I plan to take that and put it into the utilityroom this weekend. I need to paint the trim in the main room and bathroom one last time. Then I need to tape the trim off and then get a nice clean line for the trim to wall line. Then I will be ready for carpet. I should have no problem getting that all done before monday morning. I need to rip out the carpet and padding for the stairs before monday morning and then everything will be ready for the installer on monday.

I can’t wait until monday evening. I will be able to move all of the furniture into the main room and clean out the utility room. I can also move all of our work out stuff into the main room of the basement. It will be nice to get a few things cleaned and organized.

The other night I finished up most of the trim in the bathroom

I say I finished most of the trim because I was in the bathroom last night and noticed I missed a peice of trim I wanted to put up to cover a gap between the wall and the back of the bathroom cabinet.  That will take a few minutes but hopefully I can get that up and then put the final coat of paint on the trim this weekend.

Sealing the grout has been finished

I sealed the grout and tile twice last night. The floor is looking pretty good now. In between coats of sealer I painted the shoemolding. Tonight I will get the air hose back out and turn on the compressor. I will have to get my mitre saw out again to cut the shoe molding. It probably will only take me a few minutes to get the show molding all finished. It will be nice to worry about another room now. I believe I just have paint touch up to do before the carpet gets installed in another week and a half.
