Jeep is really starting to show it’s age now
A few things have been going out on the jeep lately. Many of them things that really don’t need to be fixed, but it would be nice to have everything working. Things like the abs system get fixed quick. Things like a light in the dash or ruber stoppers for the rear door don’t get fixed fast or at all. The last thing to act up was the passanger side front door speaker. It started to rattle last week. I finally ordered some cheap replacement speakers from crutchfield late last week. They came last night and went in in no time. I was really suprised how easy they went with with the extra parts crutchfield inclued with my order. They even had a doc that shows me how to remove every panel in my jeep for the front and rear speakers, the tweaters in the dash and the head unit. Very nice to have that info. The door pane came off no problem after I knew what to do and expect.
Now to replace a few more things that are bugging me. No major problems just small stuff. I wonder how much longer I can make the jeep last. It has been running great for about 3 years, no problems at all.

What a hot weekend
Finally made it out and power washed the rest of the house. It was very hot yesterday and I was out fixing how the downspout routed and was getting very hot digging so I pulled the pressure washer out and started to wash the outside of the house. Man did that water feel good. Whole house is pretty much clean now. There is one side of the house I will need to get a ladder if I want to clean the siding anymore than it is. Amazing how dirty siding can get.
I also finished up on fixing my mistake when I put the sprinkler system in. The drain to the front downspout has been extended under the sidewalk and all the way out to the middle of the front yard. Now to see how it works after the first rain. The driveway has been fixed also. Finished that up yesterday just before I stated on the downspout. That was a full days job in the heat we are having. Just have to wait to make sure there is no more erosion and then I will plan to put a little top soil down and seed in the areas I was not able to put grass back in place. I am very happy that is all back in and looking kind of normal. I will mow tonight and hopefully you can’t even tell I put a very long run of drain tube down.

New power washer
Saturday jenny and I decided to go look at power washers. I had been thinking about getting one since we bought our first house. Well this year we finaly bought one. Got a Karcher 2500 psi model. It has a nice 5.5 hp honda engine on it and just fits next to the jeep in the back corner of the garage. Should not be a problem storing it there. Found out it was strong enough to clean cement on sunday. Used it for awhile saturday and changed the oil sunday so it should be set for a few more years now. Here you can see a picture and the specs on the one we got at sams. I originally find one I liked at Menards but looked at sams real quick and like that one better. Pretty much the same engine and what not as the one at menards that I liked but the one at sames had a black frame so I went with that instead of the yellow frame one at Menards.

What a nice long weekend
Now that is a nice vacation. Took one day of vacation and made a nice 4 day weekend. It sure was nice to relax and get some stuff done around the house. Still have a long list of things I need to do but accomplished a bit of stuff we needed to do also. We ended up getting a power washer on saturday. Washed the deck and then finally got around to sealing it last night. It looks great once again. One day we will redo the deck and make it a little bigger and put the composite wood up instead of pressure treated.

Las Vegas Trip
I have uploaded a bunch of pictures. You must be logged into the gallery before you can view any of the pictures. Please feel free to create an account if you have not already. My way of making sure images don’t get viewed by just anybody. Thanks. As you can see, we took many pictures on the trip. My camera’s memory card erased all of my pictures about the time we flew over the hoover dam so not as many from my camera. I was able to format the card and start taking pictures after we landed in the grand canyon though. We took pictures of things like the helicopter we flew in, to see the hoover dam and landed down in the grand canyon, to pictures inside many of the casinos, to the treasure island show or fountain show at lake bellagio or volcano show outside the front of the casinos.
We had a great time. Had a few meals that were awesome. We both agree that there is no need to go back to vegas again. We pretty much did everything we wanted to do. Not really a city we need to visit again. Plenty of other places to see before we go back.
I think the highlight of the trip for me was the helicopter ride out over the hover dam and then on to the grand canyon. That was amazing. Good thing we did the helicopter trip and not the bus trip. Found out the bus trip was well over 10 hours of travel time. Helicopter was just about 3 hours from pickup at the casino to drop off back at the casino. It was awesome.

Wow, we had a few to many boxes in the utility room
After dinner I headed down stairs to try to make a dent on the utility room again. I forgot how many boxes we had down there. I spent well over an hour pulling out old boxes and breaking them down. I broke down 4 computer case boxes. I still have two antec boxes I am going to keep. I have two big bundles of boxes to get recycled this week. I have a bunch of packaging materials to throw out also. Not sure if all of it will get put out this week. I will see what I can fit.
I almost have everything to the point that I can start to vacumn and start to put things back and organize. I need to think about how I am going to get that area organized. I think I am going to put a few shelves back up and maybe build one more shelving unit. I need to start planning what tool benches and cabinets I want to build for the workshop.

It has been a very long time since I have posted on the blog
Many things have been happening. Jen and I are still here. It has been beautiful out so we have not been spending to much time inside lately. Still getting the occasional tv show or movie in on the big screen though. Over the holiday weekend we bought a few items for some fun in the back yard. Taylor loved chasing the ball as we hit it around the backyard. Kind of made it hard sometimes to play but it was a good time short of the very hot humid weather we were dealing with.
Finally got around to doing a few things around the house. Cleaned up and put a new screen in the sliding door in the back. Man that thing slides smooth now. First time I opened it, it flew open. Does not stick at all anymore.
Last night I finally got around to moving things around in the utility room and cleaning that room up. I still have at least another hour or so of moving stuff and then vacuming all of the floor and then putting stuff back in an organized fashion though. Was good to get a few things moved and cleaned up though. I can actually get to the work bench once again and halfway to the shelving unit in the corner. I plan on getting rid of many of the boxes I have kept around and making a pile of stuff to get pictures taken of and post on ebay. Still have the old crt projector I want to get rid of also.

Furniture has been delivered
I will have to say that the whole art van experience pretty much sucked. But in the end, the delivery and delivery crew was the best part of the experience. All three items are here and they are all the same color. I think they look very nice in the room. I will plan on posting some pictures of them this coming week. No damage to the furniture or house during the delivery. Over all I am very happy with the new furniture. Much more comfortable than the futons. Now we have to move the futons to other rooms.

Verified, all 3 items will be delivered on saturday
I called art van this morning and verified the special order recliner sofa, love seat and chair are all in and ready for delievery. I said that a message left at our home machine said that the sofa and love seat were in. I asked if she could tell me what items were going to be delivered on saturday. She listed all three items.
Now we just have to wait to see what shows up and make sure they are the items we ordered. Then I want to go over each item to make sure there is no damage and that they do not damage anything bringing the items into the house.
