I cleaned up the corner in the bathroom and put another coat of paint on so I will be able to finish the trim on the door and baseboard in the bathroom. I have all of the wood ready to trim out the windows in the main room. Just have to get to it.

Last night dave came up and we worked on a few projects he needed finished up for his boat. We cleaned up two blocks of wood and rounded the corners and then cut up this plastic sheet and made 6 rod holders to replace some old very aged rod holders from his boat. They turned out very nice. It was weird cutting and routing plastic.

I hope to get back to the basement later today. I want to try to get trim finished on the door and bathroom and get the cabinet and sink all setup and finished. I need to finish the valves under the sink before I put the cabinet back in. I may have running water in that bathroom this week.

I wanted to work on some touchup and hole filler, but did not make it down. I picked up some more wood filler at homedepot last night and also another sample tile. I think we are going to go with plain white tiles in the bathroom. I will plan to put the baseboard trim down as soon as I finish the door trim and touch up paint around the door. I will need to get some shoe molding to put down after I tile. If I can start a full tile at the shower I should be able to make the whole room look pretty good. I figure I can put shoe molding everywere else to cover up the cut edge agains the walls and cabinets. I think we will use a medium to dark grout. I have my work cut out for me now. Time to mount the sink and cabinet perminatly. I have 3 books from the library to help me get this tile job started correctly and finished. I plan to start early on a saturday and hopefully by lunch I will have the tiles all laid out and ready for grout. I will have to read a bit but I probably will wait to grout until the following weekend just to let the thinset dry all the way and make sure everything is correct. There really is not much to do but this being my first tile project I hope I do not overlook anything. Since I have one tile I can get the layout all set and get chalk lines down so when it comes to laying down thinset, I will be ready and can get right to it. I will probably rent a tile cutter from homedepot when I get the tiles and buy a tile chipper. I will probably buy a bag of dry grout and a bag of dry thinset. Unless premixed is not much more. I still have some reading to do but hopefully in a week or so I can tackle this job. I have plenty to do before I will run out of stuff to finish in the basement. I think at this time I would like to get the tile work finished before the carpet goes in. It will be nice to be able to have everything finished when they come to put the carpet in. I am pretty sure I will work to make that happen. I was originally going to do the bathroom last but after talking to the 2 carpet installers both said it would be good to do the tile first and then put the carpet in to get the threshold perfect and not have to redo it once the tile was finshed.

I did not get down to take updated pictures as of yet. I plan to clean things up tonight and take a bunch of materials out to the garabage. After that I will plan to take a few pictures.

The last two days I have finished quite a few things in the basement. I have finished all of the baseboard trim on the main room hallway and office. I finished a little bit of drywall work on the office and bathroom. I have trimmed out the french doors and one side of the bathroom door. I have to sand a little drywall before I can finish the other side of the bathroom door. After I finsh that and paint I can finish the trim and the baseboard trim for the bathroom. I have almost all of the wood primed and ready so I can finish the two windows in the main room. After that I will start to fill the holes and touch up all of the trim and then paint the trim one last time. I then need to tape off the trim and put another coat of paint on the walls. Many things to do still. I think I will be doing the tile work in the bathroom myself. I need to pick tile and grout color and get that home so I can finsh that room before the carpet goes down. I still have to mount the cabinet and sink before I can tile. I need to get some shoe molding to finish the trim in the bathroom after I have tiled. I plan to get as much completed this weekend as I can. I may end up taking another day off soon so I can finish a bit more on the basement. When I can get moving in a single day I get so much more completed. Getting closer to carpet everyday. I will plan to clean up the rooms tonight and take a few pictures.

Last night I cleaned up a bit and organized a few things and setup to continue to paint and put baseboard molding down. I had a carpet installed come out and take a look at the area and give us a quote. He also lays tile so he gave me a quote for that also. I have one other guy coming out later this week and maybe one other one coming out later. I need to get the samples back to Pro Source so I hope I can get all of the installers out soon to give me quotes. I hope to get back to the baseboard tonight. Last night I relaxed and caught up on some tv. Not feeling the best so I wanted to lay low and try to not get to sick.

Finished up the other side of the utility room door. Painted one side of the bathroom door and painted the rest of the baseboard trim. Worked on a bit of the wood for around the two small windows and worked on putting some of the baseboard down at the bottom of the stairs. I can’t really do to much more until I finish the door trim around the french doors. I will probably start on the office tomorrow. Will see how far I can get on it. I hope to get some move wood preped and ready to put up around the small windows. I will paint the other side of the bathroom door. Everything is falling together. I am glad I have the brad nailer and also the finish nailer. It would be very hard to put all of this mold up if I did not have the two nailers. I will probably put a few more pictures up wed. Not much has changed so far. By wed I hope to have a few items knocked out and you probably will see the difference.

Took a few pictures of the basement last night. Not to much has changed but I thought I should update. I have the window in the office all finished. The doorway to the utility room is finished. I have to paint the other side of the door and then I can put the door backup. Here is a link to all of the pictures. I hope to work on the last two doors tonight and also start in on the baseboard trim and get some of the wood for around the small windows in the main room ready and primed. A few hours a night and this thing might be finished soon. Here is a sample of the carpet we are going to go with. We plan to replace the carpet on the stairs and put carpet in the hallway at the bottom of the stairs, the main room and the office. I will put tile in the bathroom at a later time.

Things are moving along on the basement again. All of the door and window trim has been painted once. I have one doorway and one window trimed and painted a second time. Both are finished. One sice of the door has been painted and hopefully tomorrow I will paint the other side so I can put it back up. I painted one pack of the baseboard trim. I will probably paint the other pack tomorrow. I have to fix the french door and the bathroom door and then I can trim those two doors out. I have to prime the wood for the two small windows and then I should be able to get the two windows going. It would be nice to have most of the baseboard molding down and the doors and windows all finished by this weekend. We have picked the carpet we like. This week I will call and setup a meeting with an installer so we can get figures together to install the carpet. This may actually come to a close soon. The last thin to do would be to finish the bathroom. I really want o use the basement so I am going to finish everything but the bathroom now. I will finish that some time later. Trying to get the main room, hallway and office finished so I can order the projector and start using the basement.
