Well the weekend started out great. Got up saturday morning kind of early. Jenny had to go round in the morning so I got up when she was leaving and got taylor up. Played with her a bit and then headed out back to work on the sprinkler system once again. I dug up two heads and put some more dirt in the area and then put the grass back down. That fixed the problem. I am a perfectionist so I thought the heads were a bit high. They stuck out of the ground just a bit and that bugged me. I also changed a few of the nozzles on the heads on the side of the backyard. That area seemed to be a bit dry so I put a little larger nozzle on those heads. I dug up one last head in the front side yard that I had blown out last year when I was winterizing the yard. I didn’t get it burried as deep as I should have. So all heads are fixed now. I then proceeded to look into the last known leak. The two valves next to the garage I noticed a little water buildup the other week when I left the main line pressurized. I did not see any water in the one valve cover, that was nice. I opened the second one and there was about 1 inch of water in that area. I turned the water off and then hooked up the air compressor and pressurized the whole main line to 80psi. I then proceeded to dig up that valve and found the problem. I forgot to put a clamp on the one connection. So I put a clamp on and then took the air compressor off the line and then turned the water back on and ran a few zones. I left the problem valve uncovered and open for a few hours. No water dripping or buildup at all. Think the problem is fixed so I put all the dirt and cover back in the hole and cleaned the area up. The main water line has been turned on for the last 2 days and I do not see anymore leaks. The timer was set and the sprinklers were running when jenny went to work early monday morning. Everything is working great with the sprinklers now. The only problem is I get them fixed and then we get a bunch of rain. I turned the timer of yesterday because we got so much rain yesterday. Probably will not need to water the rest of this week.
Weekend went fast
Well, took another half day on friday. That half day seems to make the weekend so much longer for some reason. Makes if very nice. Still to short though. We were out of town for most of the weekend. Got back early evening last night and I started up the sprinklers and unpacked and got stuff in order inside. Went out and washed both the cars and pulled them into the grage for the first time in just over a week. The new floor paint/epoxy seems to be holding up fine. Only time will tell. The cars were a bit wet but the floor did not get to slippery. Water pooled up nicely and this morning it was nice and dry and no dirt marks at all. I think it will work out just fine. Now to get back to the basment of r abit and then maybe take care of a few other projects upstairs and in the yard. I have to finish up the speaker wires though. Maybe I can get that all wrapped up this week or weekend.

Garage floor is finished
Well I took a half day on friday so I could come home and start on the garage floor. I worked the better part of the afternoon cleaning the garage floor. Let it dry all night and then started painting it with the Rustoleum epoxy first thing saturday morning. I had enough stuff in the garage I had to move all of it out to clean it and then I put a tarp down on a section of it and put everything on that tarp over night and the next day. Sunday morning I moved everything back to there correct spots in the garage and then painted the last section that had the trap and everything on it. It looks pretty darn good. Now to see how it holds up to the weight of the cars and the michigan winter. Hope it does as good as the box said is should. Was lucky to find the kits on-sale at menards. Ended up having to buy 3 kits since we have what is considered a 2 1/2 car garage. I thought I might get it done with 2 kits but when I finished one side I knew I would not be able to get the step finished also. So I went and bought a third kit saturday after I put down the first kit and then went on to put down the second kit so I only have a small section to finish today. Now I have to wait 7 days before we can drive on it. Will need to wash both cars next sunday for sure. The get pretty dirty outside over night.

Very nice weekend
The weather was awesome this weekend. Did not do to much on the house like I had wanted to but did do a few things. Made it down to the local art institute and went to a local rib fest on saturady. Sunday I pulled all of the rear speakers the side speakers cables and the two sub speaker cables. I need to figure out locations of each of the speakers now and put them in boxes and then figure out the location of the front speakers and run the wires to those locations. Then I will have all wiring finished up. I need to build sofet in two areas to cover up the heater piping. After those two areas have been boxed in I just have to put a few more furing strips around the Metal ibeam and that will be ready to have drywall also. I then just need to run the black pipe for gas and I am done. Maybe I can get that black pipe run in the next few weeks. That will be the show stopper since I want to get a friend to get his friends gas detector. Won’t do it unless I can detect the gas. Hope to be back to hanging drywall in the next month or so. Before I can get to far on the main room I have to deciced on the shower and cabinets for the bathroom because I have to take the door out to get most of that in. Moving slow but sure.

Epoxy paint for the garage
So I have been wanting to put some rustoleum paint down on the garage floor. There are a few things I am worried about. First, I have heard that it might be a bit slippery. I have also heard that when you put the flakes down that come with the kit it really is not that slippery. I am also worried about how long you have to stay off of it with cars. Not a big deal but we just have to keep the cars out of the garage for 7 days. I may take a day off of work next week, say friday. Then clean and empty the garge out. Go ahead and paint one side and then move everything back into the garage (put it on the side I have not treated yet). Then on sunday I can move everything to the painted side so i can paint the other side. Then by tuesday I can move everything back to where it needs to be. We can then park the cars back in the garage by sunday the follow weekend. Sucks to leave the cars out for so long but I think it will be worth it in the end.

Planning a nice relaxing weekend
I do not know what I plan to do this weekend. Many projects still need to be started or just finished. I do know we plan to stay around town this weekend and I hope to relax part of it. I just bought rustoleum garage floor epoxy the other day. I think I will wait to do that till later. I may work on the basement getting the rest of the office mudded and then try to get some of the speaker wire run. Just picked up a few speaker wall plates today. The plates that I bought were a bit expensive but each plate has either 4 or six terminals on it so either 2 or 3 speakers can be hooked to each plate. I may go back to lowes and get one more set. Kind of expensive (25 dollars) but the cheapest I have seen so far. If I get one more set I think that will give me enough to do most of jacks I need to do. I still need to do a few more but I can get jacks at a later date for that. After I get the speaker wire up, all I need to do is get the black pipe in the wall for the gas stove I want to put in down there and then I can start to put up more drywall. It looks so nice when the drywall gets put up. You can see the place take shape really quick. I think all the leaks are gone from the sprinkler system. I think i will turn it on tonight and let it come on automatically tomorrow morning. Watch it tomorrow and sunday to make sure water is not accumulating and then that should be that. I do need to pick up some funny pipe from my friend so I can move two sprinkler heads a bit and get them a bit lower than they are right now. That will take me about 30 minutes to an hour to fix those. Just have not really worried about it so far.

New dvd burner
Just got my new Liteon SOHW-832s last night. Put it in my server and the thing came in fine. Could not do a thing with it though. Could not even upgrade the firmware which everything I read said to do. That made me a bit worried. Had dinner and then came back to it later. Took the pc apart and changed the ide cable around and finally got the dvd upgraded to the latest firmware and also was able to test burn a dvd. Put it on a rw for the time being. Will see if it made a good copy tonight. If it works I will probably put my older dvd burner in this box also and upgrade to the latest firmware and see if that work also. WIll be nice to have two burners. My reason for buying this was that my old cd burner stopped working a few weeks ago. I had no burner at home that was working. Found this dual layer dvd burner for 85 bucks so I had to grab it. Hopefully liteon will be as good as I believe it is.

Took care of many things so far this weekend
Well I finally setup the tools and stuff and just hammered out the shelving unit in the garage today. I went through everything and cleaned out the whole garage. Filled up our garbage container. So we can’t through anything else away this week. 🙂 So the garage is looking great. I still want to have a guy come and mud the garage at the same time I have him mud the basement when it is ready. Then I plan to paint the walls and ceiling. I also plan to put a two part epoxy coating on the floor to clean up the garage a bunch. Hope to do that to the floor this summer yet. I finally got around to touching up the pain in the spare bedroom and also put a coat of paint around the new screen door. Sealed that spot in our bedroom from the leak this summer and then touched the spot up with a new coat of paint. Everything looks good now, can’t even tell there was a stain there now. Did the normal mow the lawn and what not. Then treated the whole backyard for weeds. Hopefully this will kill most of the weeds in the back yard. Not to many but enough to not spot treat. The front I only had a few here and there. Over all I am pretty happy how the lawn is coming along.

New door yesterday
Well I decided to take the day off work yesterday and work around the house. We had a guy coming to install the screen door on our front door also. Everything was accomplished. I am very happy with the new screen door and like the new door knobs and locks I just got yesterday and put on the house. Not a cheap project at all but it does look very nice now. Did not get around to paining like I wanted to yesterday. I hope to be able to do the touch up painting around the new door and a few other areas around the house this weekend. I also need to work on that stupid leak in the backyard and did not get around to starting the shelves for the garage either. Have plenty to do this weekend if I want to. Should stay very busy. Have to make it to the range tonight to hit a bucket of balls though. I am going to a golf outing tomorrow and have not hit a ball for well over a year now. Hope I can still hit 1 out of 10 balls still 🙂

That sipura works great
Put a 900 mhz phone on it two days ago. Have been playing with it. Last night I handed it to my wife and said call anybody you want to. Local long distance what ever. It will not cost us a cent. So she did, called her mom. Worked great. She couldn’t even tell she was calling via a different provider. I told her she called over the internet and she was impressed. I was glad it worked that time. Sometimes for some reason when I try to call out via stanaphone it doesn’t connect correctly. Just sits. I have to figure that out still. When I call out via voicepulse which does cost money, it makes the call every time. Oh well, stanaphone is free, not complaining at all.
