I was able to get the cabinet and countertop put in the laundry room sat. That has been a project I have been putting off. Looks pretty good. That corner was not squre so the counter top does not sit all the way agains the wall. Oh well. Not the end of the world. I am going to be putting up 45 inches of cabinet across the top so that will help take away from the fact that there is a space behind part of the countertop against the wall. Just need to get the other cabinets and some handles and that room will be finished. Bought a new notebook for jenny. Got it at sams club. Very nice small notebook. Is an athlon 2500xp. Runs at 1.7 or 1.8mhz I believe. So I am looking for a new wireless card for her old notbook that I will inherit. Just bought a 16 port switch from dell, 100 bucks shipped, will put that in my utility room where I am running all the network wires. I also got a free access point from dell in that deal. So I will be selling both of my dlink access points here shortly. I have a whole bunch of other equipment also that needs to be sold on ebay. Maybe this winter I will get around to it. Plan to work on the basement this weekend with a friend. Just one step closer to getting drywall on the walls. Got a 28 meg sd card for the new camera at sams also. And splurged and bought a slab of ternderloin from sams, it was 78 bucks for the whole thing but cut it up and vacum sealed it so they will be great. Probably got about 14 or 15 peies out of it. Well worth the money I am sure. Was only like 11 or 12 dollars a pound where it is like 18 dollars a pound if you get individual peices at the meat counter. Well that is all for now.
Jeep has been fixed
Well after sears broke the handle for the hood release. I had to take it to the dealer to get it fixed. The part was 44 bucks and the labor to put it in was 88 bucks. Man they are expensive. Took the receipt to sears and they credited the part and labor back to my credit card. Was very nice of them. So I have new shocks now and they seem to be working great. While I had it in at the dealer I also had them replace a seal on my transmission. Will get under the jeep tonight to see what I can, I knew it was leaking a bit but nothing bad. So now the jeep should be in good working order, hopefully for another few months to a year. Did find out why my brakes were squeaking so much. It was the pads I got from autozone. Found out that you never should get semi-metallic. They make alot more brake dust and are very noisy. Put some oem pads on the back of the jeep last night. Made the jeep much more quieter when braking. Still a little bit of squeaking out of the front. So next month I might go down and get pads for the front. They are at least twice as much to get oem pads but for much less brake dust and no noise I am willing to pay that.

Quick weekend
Well, the weather was beautiful again this weekend. I had time to clean the garage out all the way and sweep it and then blew it out with the air compressor. I also got the backflow preventor put on the sprinkler system on sat. afternoon. Still have to hook it to the water line inside but at least I got part of it down. I was able to hook the air compressor to the backflow preventor and I blew out all the lines. That was fun. Taylor loved it. Water came out almost like steam at times. Air compressor worked great. To good on one zone. I only have 3 heads on the side yard. Well 80 psi was a bit much I guess for those heads. The center one flew about 20 feet up in the air. I was planning on moving that one anyway. So this casualties just made me make the move a bit faster than I was planning. All was fixed in a few minutes. I took my jeep into sears early sat. to get new shocks on it. They decided to break the handle on the hood release. So the jeep is in at the dealer today getting that fixed. Only set me back 130 for that, will take the bill to sears so they can get me that back. When the dealer had the jeep up on the lift they noticed a leak from the transmission. I knew it had a problem, also knew it was going to be about 250. So I decided since it was already there, go ahead and fix it now. So that set me back a bit more. Oh well. Got a new camera for jenny over the weekend. Her birthday is this week so the present is a bit early. Man is it nice. It is a canon elph, the sd100 digital camera. It is just as good as my olympus just about 1/2 the size or less. It takes sd memory so I will have to find a good deal on at least a 128 meg sd memory card soon. The 16meg one that came with it only holds about 12 pictures. I love that you hit the button and the thing takes a picture. My olympus can do more than this one but this one is a great point and shoot camera and so small. Can’t wait to get some moving pictures of taylor running at me in the back yard. It should do a great job. This week I hope I will have some time to finally put in the cabinet in the laundry room. I want to get that room back together. Maybe early next month I can get 1 or 2 more cabinets that will go above this cabinet and the dryer. That project will be complete then. I need to finish up wiring in the basement so I can move all of my computer stuff down there so jenny can finally start working on her much deserved office. We will need some nice office furniture but that will come in due time.

Great weather out lately
Since we are having good weather again. That prompts me to work outside again. Last night I was able to get the new cable line buried up to the house. Glad that is all taken care of now. I plan to mow the lawn tonight. I have dug up the main connection to the sprinkler system. I hope to tonight or this weekend get the backflow preventor hooked up and get the sprinkler system all winterized. I still want to get it plumbed into the house but do not know if I will get that accomplished this weekend. Who knows I might. I then will need to fix the 2 or 3 valves that have a slow leak sometime. Have not fixed all of those yet. Oh well. After that is all done, I just need to bring the last hose in from the front yard, which I probably will do tonight before I mow. Then I think I will set for winter. I think I will take all the stuff out of the garage and sweep it out and then put everything back in. Put most of the summer stuff away and stored and maybe fireup the snow blower and get that gased up and ready. Think at that point I will be ready for winter and can turn my energy and time to working on the basement. Oh still have not put shelves into the garage like I wanted to. Might have to wait till spring time and do that when I get the back door put into the garage also. So many things on my to do list. Really want to get back to the basment so I can get some drywall in and get that area starting to look finished.

Over the weekend
Well a few things happened over the weekend. Went out and bought a cabinet to put in the laundry room. It is a 24 inch base cabinet. It fits almost perfectly. Will space out the washer and dryer a bit and that should make it so that are is full and fits great. I am going to have to cut a small piece out of the back of this base cabinet because it will actually be going over where the dryer outlet is. I do not want to relocate that outlet so I will make it so you can plug and unplug the dryer through the cabinet. So that means I need a new tool. I went out and bought a new jigsaw or sabre saw as sears. I hope to be able to put the cabinet in this week sometime. Will have to find the studs and mark them and then saw out the hole for that outlet on the back and I also have to remove some trim along the floor. That is the part I am dreading. once I get that completed the cabinet will go in great I think. I was able to get a countertop from the returned pile. Only spent 15 bucks on that. Man that was a steal. It ended up going with the cabinets perfectly and the colors matched both the cabinet and the walls in the room so I got really lucky. After I get those two items in. I plan to put a set of cabinets along the wall above also. Probably 2 or three cabinets there. That should be a lot easier to do since there is nothing in the way when I go to put those up.
So yesterday I cam home from getting the new saw and jenny told me the internet was down. I checked and sure enough no lights on the cable modem. So called and had a tech scheduled out for this morning. Called my boss to make sure I could come into work a bit late. I was able to get the modem up and running last night though. Jenny was able to finish up some research she needed to do. Tech came out this morning and found that the signal loss from the street to the house was the problem. The same exact tech was out to fix the cable I cut a while back. Well that must have been the problem here. He ran a new line and all is great on the cable modem again. I just have to dig a trench and bury the cable tonight.

Cold weather
Well this cold weather so early has taken me by surprise. I still need to get the hoses in and all empty so I do not freeze them and have leaks and I need to blow out my sprinkler system so I do not have any of the lines or heads freeze and have to replace them next year. That means this weekend I really should get that plumbed in for sure.

Took friday off work
Wanted to get the laundry room and bathroom painted before it got to cold this year. Have about 3 spots to touch up and need to clean the mirror in the bathroom. All the painting went without an damages. Think we have found cabinets for the laundry room also. It will be a couple hundred bucks though. Going with plain white cabinets. Might get those next month. Yard is pretty much under control. Probably will only mow and rake the rest of this year. I want to hook the backflow valve to the sprinkler system and plumb into the house still this year but have not got around to that yet though. Then it is back inside to work on the basement. I put in the vent for the bathroom fan on saturday. That took about an hour. So that is finished up now. Have a few electrical outlets I want to finish up for the bathroom and then finish terminating and glue all the conduit for the low voltage wiring. Have quite a bit of work to do there still Have all the rooms cabled and terminated in the room at the wall plates. Just need to punch down at the panel now. I want to run two more runs also. From the back corner where I plan to put a little wet-bat. I have speaker cables to run then and wiring and power to the projector area. I can then go buy the insulation for the ceiling and the bathroom and after that I have drywall to put up. So maybe by the end of the year I might be working on the drywall. I will be so happy to get the room that far. I have alot to do to get me there but it will be worth it when I get there.

Basement Video, data and voice cabling
Well after working on it all weekend and a bit the past few days. I have all but 2 runs pulled. I had to buy about 100 bucks worth of cable and connectors/wall plates last night, I need to go buy 4 more sections of conduit and a few other peaces for connecting the conduit and I should be able to finish up on the last two sections/pulls. I then have to figure out where I want to mount each box and just nail them in and then all wall plates should be in place. I then need to terminate all the cables on punch blocks on the other end. All is going pretty good. After I get all of that tidied up I plan to pull a few cables for the projector, in conduit that is. And then pull the cables for all of the speakers. I plan to wire for 7.2, I will have two subs hooked up down there. I want to have a few extra speaker runs also. Might have time to do that this weekend. So from their I can purchase the rest of the insulation. Menards is having a few sales on it and has money back right now also. So probably will get some insulation here in the next month and hopefully finish that up also. After that is all complete I just have to move one water pipe and frame in the double door area coming into the main room from the stairs and frame out the metal pole that holds the big old iron beam that holds my house up. Think I might actually be able to start drywalling and mudding before the end of the year. Can’t wait for the dry wall to go up. I think the basement will really take shape at that time.

Pulled most data wiring over the weekend
Well, yesterday I spent about 5 hours putting 1 1/2 conduit in and pulling cat5, cat6e and coax cable into the basement. I pulled about 25 different lines throughout the day. Have a few of them terminated on one end. I have a whole mess of cables at the punchdown block side. I need to figure out how I want to set that end up. I think I am going to hook a switch to the wall and then have 2 or 3 punchdown blocks on the wall and then one punchdown block setup for phone. Then if I want to have phone at one of the stations I just jump a patch cable from that punchdown block over to the port I want a phone at. Hope the system works good. I then want to punch down all the wireing from upstairs also. Then the whole house can have either phone or network connections at each data jack. Need to buy a few more jacks for the wall plate side and I should be able to finish up the project. Then I want to pull the wire for speakers and finish up the insullation. Want to get that done and get doors ordered before winter hits. Would really like to get drywall in the basement before winer really hits also. Then I can take my own time when finishing the rooms. I think things will come together nicely.

Relaxing weekend and got a few things accomplished
Well had a good weekend. Put in the last sprinkler head I wanted to put in. Ended up messing up the cable line, have it working great right now but will have charter come out wed. Evening to fix with a new line hopefully. Got new toro heads for the one side of the house. They don’t seem to be working as good as I hoped. I might have to many on a zone. They have a hard time popping up sometimes. I will have to keep playing with those. Sweated a few more joints on the copper pipe in the basement. Not finished there yet though. Think I might have found the squeakiness problem on my breaks on the jeep. When I found that problem I also found that the CV boot on the drivers side broke lose. taking the jeep in wed. Night so the shop can have it thursday. Will set me back 200 or so. Oh well. Want to try to get the lawn mowed tonight or tomorrow. Still a bit wet right now. MIght not dry off enough for me to mow tonight. Some of the grass is starting to come in, from where I put new seed and top soil down. Hopefully in another week most of that will be in and looking good. That stuff even grows at night is seems like.
